GIC 2

The GIC 2 course provides cadets who have successfully completed GIC 1 with 4 launches or 25 minutes of soaring flight. Again,
a short ground lesson is provided prior to flight.

Ground Lesson
During the ground lesson a member of 661 staff will deliver safety brief, re-familiarise trainees with safety equipment and parachutes before again
ensuring each trainee is comfortable with the course syllabus and handover / takeover control procedures.

Launch 1
This launch gives each trainee the chance to revise what was learnt in GIC 1, in particular the datum attitude and basic flying instruments.

Launch 2
Launch 2 allows trainees to recap and practice controlling the aircraft in pitch, noting changes in speed and attitude.

Launch 3
During Launch 3, trainees will learn how to control the aircraft in roll using the ailerons. Once comfortable, trainees will get to practice
controlling the aircraft in roll.

Launch 4
The fourth trip provides an opportunity to consolidate what has been learnt in the previous launches before moving on to GIC 3.
